INFO ON UPCOMING CONTESTS

Contests and competitions are a very important part of Brickfilming for most people. And here at BrickPunk its no different, hereare a few of my plans for future competitions:

1. 24 hour brickfilming contest, like THAC at brickfilming.com, just that THAC is so poular that we want to run a similar contest as well so that there is two contests of this type in the year.

2. Xmas Contest, Produce a simple video based around the spirit of christmas, when it runs contest will end on xmas eve and winners will be announced on boxing day.

3. Summer Contest, will run for 2 months in the summer break, a open contest usually based around one word.

4. Finish Off Contest, We write the first two lines of a plot and leave it up to you to finish it off and animate the video.

5. Brickfilmer Of The Year Tournament, Pitches the best brickfilmers against on another in 4 rounds to produce 4 videos and the loser from each round is eliminated leaving the Brickfilmer of the year. 16 contestants in the 1st round, 8 in the 2nd round, 4 in the 3rd round and 2 in the final.

6. Collab Contest, groups of 2 or 3 brickfilmers join forces to compete against other groups, to produce on film together.

I would not start many contests like that until the site gets a bit popular,like a hundred members.
You will have a better chance of getting entrys.

no these are just some of my ideas for the future if anyone is interested.

good idea, we need lots of people to join so that this place can function properly- i upgraded your permissions to admin now.

The contests sound fine, but if you want people to sign up, you're going to have to make sure that they have a motivation to do so: prizes.

The same thing goes for the site in general. If you want to attract an audience, you're going to have to make sure that people feel that visiting here pays off. This means original resources and unique community.

Given the fact that the competition includes the well-established site www.brickfilms.com, it'll be an uphill battle. BiM is still struggling to make a name for itself, and they were able to capitalize on the general loathing of TaaB and her leadership.

I don't mean to sound depressing, just realistic.

Very nice ideas, I like it!

I'm really interested on the collab contest...the others really interesting are the "finish off" one and the BOTY one, and I would enter them even without winning nothing...

well these were preliminary ideas, we ideally nedd more members for these to run, there will be prizes anyway. I just wanted to do have more variation on the contests we offer to be different from other sites.
